Sometimes functional but always sculptural, my work is individually created either wheel thrown or hand built. I fire in both an electric kiln and a raku kiln. Working 2 firing methods allow me options that vary the result range.
I have been intrigued and challenged by ceramics, not just the science of "glaze meets clay" and "clay meets heat" but the freedom to create. To work with a material that in its most natural form is from the earth. I enjoy all aspects of the work from the subtle lines and curves of the form to the way that the colors and particles suspend in the glaze as it flows over the clay.
Introduced to ceramics by my then 9 year old daughter my education began.
With a combined background of electrical construction, music and hockey, it seems only natural to be drawn to this medium.? My journey continues every time I open the studio door.

Hi...I'm Abby the dog. I'm just hanging out looking cute in the snow while taking a brief time out from tearing up my bed, ripping up the rug and all the general madness that I so enjoy causing. But, I can't be all bad ... After all it is "Potterydog Pottery" isn't it?
