Special Edition of Coaches Corner;

In this edition of the Coaches Corner Chat we have Bomber player and G.M. Bill Auld.

CCC: Thanks for joining us today Bill. Lets get right into it, The Bombers have are known as a physical team. You have been quoted as saying"We are a retaliatory team and are not looking for trouble". Mr. Auld, your penalty minutes tell us different. With the games being called much closer by the officials, how have the new rules impacted the teams style of play?

BA:

Wait, are you trying to say Im looking for trouble? Thats an interesting viewpoint CCC.  Well, I think the truth to my original point of the Bombers being a retaliatory team is magnified when you look at Bombers games since the new rules have been in place.  With the referees taking better control of the game, our penalty minutes are actually down (Brian Kostrowski excepted).  As a matter of fact this "troublemaker" has infinitely less penalty minutes than, lets say, the creator of these questions.  And I mean "infinitely".  Figure that one out.

CCC: It the last few games the team has posted a significant amount of goals. Most of the goals have come in the second 2 periods of game. What do you attribute the first period non productivity to?

BA:

Thats Bomber Hockey!

CCC: Lets talk about goaltending. There was rumor that young goaltender Josh Burke would not be returning the bomber line up. Its nice to see him between the pipes. Can you tell us if it was a contractual issue? A mental condition?

BA:

Well, with goaltenders its always a mental condition.

CCC: It has been reported that veteran center Bob Calvano has been seen "behind the bench". Can you further elaborate on this and his injury status?

BA:

Bobby is using the same grit and determination he showed on the ice to rehabilitate his sore back.  We have spoken with specialists regarding his condition and we are assured we will see Bob in the Bomber sweater sometime down the road.  Internally we havent set a timetable for his return but mind you he is working diligently towards that goal.  His dedication to the squad is obvious in his volunteer presence behind the bench.  He has actually been quite helpful in this capacity.  Bobby has made many good game time decisions for the team- the assistant coach he had that one game not withstanding.

CCC: The team seems to be in a good place right now. Would you tell the people what the chant from the bench means when they yell

"The Piiiiiiiiincher"?

BA:

Simply put- when you hear the crowd chant "The Piiiiiiiiincher" you know its "bad news" for the opposing team.

CCC: Thanks Bill we appreciate your time with us today.

BA:  Well thank you CCC.  I always relish the opportunity to talk the most storied franchise in NJ adult ice hockey history.
